Wind-driven ventilation of Double Skin Façades with vertical openings: Effects of opening configurations

Insufficient airflow in the cavity of Double Skin façade (DSF) systems has resulted overheating risk and resulting reduction thermal performance cooling dominant climates. Previous research focused more on buoyancy-driven natural ventilation, there is a lack utilising wind-driven ventilation as force for heat dispersion from cavity. Additionally, geometrical features wind direction influential factors wind-induced have not been addressed DSF studies. This paper presents detailed evaluation impact opening configurations an integrated tall building with respect to four orientations (0°, 30°, 60°, 90°) facade. The based three indicators: (i) induced rate, (ii) speed ratio, (iii) distribution across length.
